Where are you from?
Palo Alto, California.
What do you do?
Business development, programming, curation and creative direction at Boiler Room. Otherwise I DJ, make music and do some freelance A&R.
What’s your favourite Boiler Room broadcast?
Collections I did with Now Again Records founder, Egon. Or a 12-hour broadcast I did from Peanut Butter Wolf’s house. All vinyl.
What’s your favourite playlist/mixtape ever?
Iman Omari’s Energy Essential mixtape or Madlib’s WLIB radio for Stones Throw’s podcast.
What’s the best way to find new music?
Bandcamp, Boiler Room and friends.
What’s the best city for emerging music scenes right now?
London and Los Angeles.
What’s the best party you’ve ever been to and why was it so good?
Bone Soda, this low-key night I do with my two colleagues, Skinny and Truce. It’s good because we play whatever we want – juke, footwork, funk, rap, electronic, etc. And the crowd is crazy receptive, unlike anywhere I’ve DJed before.
Finish the sentence: The music sounds better with…
Lah.
