Launched 12 years ago in collaboration with adidas, Y-3 is Yohji Yamamoto’s younger, sportier line and this season they were lookin’ fly. Inspired by aviation, Amelia Earhart and the Royal Air Force, Yamamoto merged the worlds of past and future flight, from its pioneering history to its promising future of space travel. This translated into neoprene jackets, boilersuits and a new kind of khaki all in a strict colour palette of steel blue, dark navy and cool grey that echoed its RAF roots. Fasten your seatbelts please, this is one flight of fancy that’s ready for take-off.
