If you haven’t quite got the frequent flyer miles to ring in 2015 alongside the models of the moment Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid in Dubai this NYE, fear not. We’ve picked Thump’s bass-hungry brains and teamed up to bring you the top spots to spend your stateside New Year’s Eve. Whether you’re taking it over the top on Top of the Standard with Rita Ora or keeping it kawaii with Ryan Hemsworth at Webster Hall, let i-D help make this NYE one for the books.
SHADE: 2084:
Ladyfag and Seva Granik, the dynamic duo responsible for Alexander Wang’s legendary after parties, are coming for 2015 with a special version of their unparalleled party series SHADE. This NYE, SHADE will peer into the not-too-distant dystopian future, staging one last techno blowout in an abandoned warehouse as the world crumbles outside. Headlined by i-D-exclusive mix vet Egyptrixx, SHADE: 2084 will see club kids and Chelsea boys alike rage till 9AM with the assurance that “Big Brother is not watching.”

Mykki Blanco headlines Baby’ All Right:
It’s been a pretty busy year for unbeweavable drag rapper Mykki Blanco. After answering our Halloween FAQ’s and performing inside Rashaad Newsome’s Art Basel installation, the subversive spitfire is bringing the party back to Brooklyn this NYE. Ms. Blanco will be joined at Baby’s All Right by an eclectic crew, including Saint Laurent muse Julia Cumming’s psychedelic band Sunflower Bean, Aaron Maine of Porches, and Dubbel Dutch, among many others.

Webster Hall’s NYE Party with Ryan Hemsworth and more:
Fresh off a tour stint in Asia, self-professed “Remix Ryan Gosling” and total sweetheart Ryan Hemsworth will be keeping the kawaii vibes alive at Webster Hall this New Year’s Eve. Also featuring a set from Duke Dumont, a live performance by Keiza, and “the largest balloon drop in the free world,” this is one night at Webster you won’t want to miss.

NYE on Top of the Standard with Rita Ora:
If that Christmas cash is burning a serious hole in your pocket (and the door staff happen to owe you a favour), take your night over the top by partying at the Top of the Standard with Rita Ora. While she might have fronted DKNY’s autumn/winter 14 campaign alongside “real New Yorkers,” Ora will spend the black tie affair rubbing elbows with real ballin’ New Yorkers at one of the city’s most exclusive events of the year.

Disclosure’s Wild Life NYE:
If you’ve ever found yourself asking, “I have enough cheese and crackers for eight people…do you think that’s enough?” you, Cady Heron, and your intimate gathering should stay far, far away from Pier 94 this New Year’s Eve. Disclosure brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence will be joined by Claude VonStroke, Dusky, and more in presenting “Wild Life NYE,” what’s sure to be one of the biggest (and loudest) bangers this side of Broadway. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Goodbye, Glasslands:
After eight years of hosting some of the best up-and-coming artists before they were big, much loved DIY hub Glasslands will close its Williamsburg doors for good with one final night of special surprise performances. Having seen sets from the likes of Disclosure and MGMT over the years, it’s anyone’s guess who the night’s top secret headliner will turn out to be. But with a (gulp) vodka open bar and midnight champagne toast, there’s no better way to say goodbye to Glasslands.

Tiki Disco’s Dark Disco:
For the past five summers, Tiki Disco has held court as New York’s ultimate outdoor party. It’s a one stop shop for New Yorkers in the market for great drink deals, even better DJs, and, of course, non stop dancing. The temperatures might be hitting rock bottom, but that won’t stop the New York favourite from greeting the new year. For NYE, Tiki Disco is taking over Bed Stuy’s Sugar Hill Supper Club with jams from DJ Eli Escobar, Andy Pry and Lloydski.

Museum of Love’s Pat Mahoney and more at Cameo Gallery:
Williamsburg’s Cameo Gallery will be kicking off 2015 with a slew of awesome electronic acts, including a DJ set by former LCD Soundsystem drummer and co-founder of Museum of Love, Pat Mahoney. The night will also see Mahoney’s Museum cohort Jee Day take his turn on the tables, as well as sounds by Dave Harrington (one half of Nicolas Jaar’s Darkside), and many more.

Let’s Party NYE with Blood Orange:
If you’re ringing in 2015 with warm weather and chill vibes on the west coast, don’t miss Blood Orange’s live performance at LA’s Park Plaza Hotel. As i-D reported, Dev Hynes will be starting the new year with some much anticipated new material, the first to follow up Blood Orange’s smash sophomore album Cupid Deluxe, which dropped in 2013. The event will also see a live performance from Classix, a too damn funky DJ set from Kindness, and much more.
