Known for his extensive experimentation with abstraction, construction, material and colour, King played an integral part in changing the face of British sculpture. Removed from the real and the figurative, King’s work pushes the boundaries of abstraction as far as physically possibly, using malleable materials such as coloured fibreglass to do so. Among the works on display is the iconic Genghis Khan (1963), so keep your eyes peeled!
Phillip King’s works will be on display in the Duveens Galleries at the Tate Britain from 8th December 2014 to 1st February 2015
