Hi Behati, school’s out for summer – what are you gonna do?
Definitely go and cause some trouble at a beach far far away, and be with all my friends.

Summer Pudding is a delicious British desert. Do you have a sweet tooth?
I have a massive sweet tooth. Anything sweet goes, but chocolate mousse and jelly sweets I can’t resist. Ooo and anything with caramel!

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a horror film. What scares you?
The dark, spiders, weird noises, airplanes, war, people with masks, big man eating octopuses, freaky kids in horror movies, blood budding, animals with rabies and monsters in my closets.

‘Summer’ is a popular American girl’s name. What’s the story behind your name?
My name means blessing, I like my name, but I always wanted to be called Lolla when I was younger. Now I love Behati, because it’s so special and unique.

Last of the Summer Wine is a British sitcom. What’s your favourite TV show?
Mmmm… I’ve been very into 30 Rock, Californication and Dexter lately. I think Dr. House is my TV crush. I can’t seem to skip the channel when House is on. Hahah.

Summer Loving is a song from hit musical Grease. Have you ever had a summer romance?
I don’t kiss and tell, haha!

    You’re stranded on a desert island…
    a) What three records would you take with you?
Nina Simone, Joe Cocker and Led Zeppelin.
    b) What luxury item?
    A lot of sunscreen.
    c) What book?
How to Survive on a Desert Island for Dummies. Or maybe How to Become a Mermaid for Dummies.
    d) What item of clothing?
A sweater dress in case the island gets a cold front.
    e) What or who would you miss most?
Everyone I love and my hairless cats!

Pimms is a delicious summer cocktail. What will you be sipping poolside this summer?
Bloody Marys, I’m absolutely crazy about them anytime of day.

    What’s your favourite ice cream?
Vanilla full cream, nothing can beat it. And I love coconut and lemon sorbet.

    What’s your favourite summer smell?
Orange blossoms are yummy. They smell amazing. I also love Narciso Rodriguez oil; it’s my absolute favorite.

    What’s your favourite summer meal?
I love sushi, or a good beet salad, and of course a good burger. Not that that’s very summery but a good burger is good all year round.

Good news! The boy of your dreams has just asked you out on a hot summer date. What will you wear from head to toe?
My fedora hat, long vintage summer dress and an amazing pair of handmade sandals from Spain.

What’s the best holiday you’ve ever been on?
One Christmas I went home to Namibia and had one of the best trips. December in Namibia is the middle of summer so it was nice and hot. I went with my family and we went fishing on the Zambezi River everyday. I caught a huge tiger fish that I’m very proud off. We also went into Botswana on safari and saw very special elephants that I had never seen before in my whole life living in Africa. It was a truly magical moment, and spending it with my family was amazing.

    What’s your dream holiday destination?
Hawaii, Costa Rica, Bali, Cape Town, Fiji, Kenya and Namibia.

Where will you be holidaying this year?
Not sure yet, I’m still trying to figure it out. A big group of us are going away and getting everyone to agree on where is a mission in itself! But we’re thinking Spain or Thailand.

    What’s on your summer playlist?
A lot of reggae and a lot of 60s, 70s rock and old soul.

What are your top tips for perfect sun-kissed summer skin?
Sun block for sure, coconut butter, rose water spray, smiling, sun, sand, sea, and you’re good to go.

What suntan factor do you wear?
On my face I wear factor 50 or more and on my body I like to wear factor 30 sunblock. It’s so important to protect your skin.

What do your friends think of your success as a model?
I’m fortunate to have some of the best friends in the world and we are all very supportive of one another, they are very proud of my success.

What has been your favourite fashion moment to date?
Working with different people inspires me. I can’t pick out one moment because for me it’s all been one big amazing experience.

    Who are your favourite designers?
Azzedine Alaïa, Chanel, Gareth Pugh, Givenchy, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Isabel Marant and of course the late McQueen.

    Describe yourself…
A fun, easy-going hippy with a bit of punk rock, and a mermaid in another life.

    Describe your personal style…
I love mixing grunge with softness. I love the English punk thing, and 70s hippies, it depends on how I feel.

    What are your beauty tips?
Be happy, take care of your skin and your body, but have fun. I’ve been trying out a lot of skin oils and coconut butter, some people find it too heavy but I love it.

    Tell us about your pets…
I have two Sphynx cats. Gollum is the boy and Smeagol the girl. They are my two absolute favourite things on this planet. They keep me so entertained, they’re so funny.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Be true to yourself and treat others the way you want to be treated yourself.
