    Telfar just launched a TV channel (and a new bag)

    Form an orderly queue! Here's everything you need to know about Telfar's fashion week comeback.

    Anyone who headed down to Telfar’s New York Fashion Week event at Pier 17 in Lower Manhattan’s Seaport District knew not to expect a run-of-the-mill fashion show. Instead, they were met by a mocked-up press conference, with a mic-studded desk and all. The TV-ready set was set up with good reason; the event marked the official announcement of the iconoclastic New York label’s latest venture — Telfar TV. Joined at the table by members of the brand’s close family — including its creative director Babak Radboy, Ian Isiah and Leilah Weinraub — Telfar shared a teaser for the brand’s new media venture, before expanding on what exactly it entails. 

    Available to download via Apple TV and Roku, the two-channel, 24-hour linear broadcast will host shows created chez Telfar, no doubt spotlighting work by members of the label’s close-knit creative community — the people who joined the designer on stage as cases in point. What’s more, you can be part of it, too — viewers are invited to submit their own content and fashion creations to be shown on the channel.

    It’ll also be the place where the label’s latest white-hot products will be drip-fed to customers, a move designed to outwit the bots that currently snap up the lion’s share of the much-fought-over bag drops on the Telfar website. By scanning a QR code that will intermittently appear on screen, viewers the world over will be able to snap up their Bushwick Birkins with ease. 

    Or, even Telfar’s brand new bag!  Yes, that’s right, Telfar’s riotously popular three-size shopping bag just got a sibling in the form of a cylindrical gym duffel, with the Telfar logos decorating each end. Dropping — or dripping, rather — “soon”, we’d wager good cash that these are set to be the bags of the moment. On your marks! It’s time to secure that bag!
