There’s a new horror film about YouTubers trapped in a haunted house

To make things worse, the house is also underwater…

No, you didn’t read that wrong: there really is an upcoming film about YouTubers who get trapped in an underwater haunted house.

New horror film The Deep House stars Camille Rowe and James Jagger as two YouTubers who go diving in a far away lake in search of video content, when they find an old house that over time has been submerged in water. Obviously, they decide to go inside only to discover the house has some dark secrets and to make things worse, they’re running out of oxygen…

The trailer doesn’t give much more away than that and ends with a creepy clip of the pair screaming in the pitch black darkness as they try to escape someone or something that’s chasing them. If you’ve ever wanted a mix of a supernatural horror and an aquatic thriller (with YouTubers!), it looks like your day is finally here…

The official synopsis reads: “While diving in a remote lake, a couple of YouTubers who specialize in underwater exploration videos discover a house submerged in deep waters.

“What was initially a unique finding soon turns into a nightmare when they understand the house was the scene of atrocious crimes. Trapped, with their oxygen reserves falling dangerously, Tina and Ben realize the worst is yet to come: they are not alone in the house.”

The film is the work of French filmmaking duo Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, best known for their gory home invasion film Inside, as well as Livid and Leatherface.

French model and actor Camille Rowe appears as one of the YouTubers, Tina. (Camille previously dated Harry Styles and appeared on his latest album Fine Line, in the form of a voicemail she left him on track ‘Cherry’.) James Jagger, who’s the son of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, plays Ben and most recently appeared in 2020 war drama Outpost.

The international release date for The Deep House is yet to be confirmed, but it’ll be out in France on 30th June. In the meantime, watch the trailer and let the idea that you can be both trapped at the bottom of a lake AND inside a creepy house haunt your dreams…
