The 2025 Met Gala theme has been unveiled. Today, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced that the theme of next year’s Costume Institute Benefit – AKA The Met Gala – will be “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Influenced by Monica L Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the Met’s accompanying exhibition will explore the Black dandy as a cultural and historical figure. Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and more will co-chair The Met Gala, taking place on 5 May 2025, and the full dress code will be revealed in the coming months.
