    The List yomi adegoke

    Read… The List

Yomi Adegoke’s book has been on every book influencer’s lips for a while, and it’s finally out in the world. In it, Ola, a popular journalist at a woman’s magazine is preparing for her wedding day with her fiancé Michael, the pair of them fawned over by their friends. But one day, a compiled list of names appears online calling out those featured for being alleged abusers. Michael’s name is on it. Buy the book, eBook and audiobook now.

    Watch… Talk to Me

The best horror film of the year swings into cinemas this weekend. Shot in Australia by YouTubers-turned-directors Danny and Michael Philippou, it follows a high schooler who, after an attempt to communicate with her dead mother, falls a little too far into the afterlife, allowing evil spirits to slip into the real world. It’s in UK and US theatres from 28 July.

    Listen to… Tsunaina

Deeply talented British-Nepali artist and producer Tsunaina has returned to bless us with more music. Following 2021’s stunning “Waterways”, her new single “Tenderer” is an ode to rebirth; the former model rebuilding her sense of self after living as a canvas for the work of others for so long. With it comes a self-directed video made in collaboration with 3D artist David Guerrero, in which digital scans of Tsunaina’s body grow from foetal state. The most beautiful sci-fi movie we’ve ever seen. Follow Tsunaina here.

    Listen to… Bo Milli

Norway’s music scene has its eyes on Bo Milli, a slightly messy and candid guitar-pop artist. Her songs deal with the scatty revelations of being young: random mates made at parties and the challenging thing that is, well, existing. One for the girls who cry to Clairo. Listen to… Matilda Lyn

Another Scandinavian voice on the cusp of her own breakout is Matilda Lyn, a new signee to Giant, the label founded by Full Stop Management’s Jeffrey Azoff, also known as Harry Styles’ manager. This earthy new track “Wait For Me” – which comes with an impressive new video – is a perfect vehicle for her mellifluous voice; a song in which she lyrically rallies for a relationship she’ll do anything to salvage. Masochistic, romantic pop. Follow her Instagram here.

Stay at… The Oberoi, New Delhi

Delhi, a sprawling city of over 32 million, isn’t exactly known for its chill. Within India’s round-the-clock hive of a capital, though, one of the most idyllic oases of calm is The Oberoi, a Delhi grande dame since first opening its doors almost six decades ago. Located on the cusp of Delhi’s bustling centre and its leafy southern quarters — perched at the fringes of a tranquil golf course, and just a stone’s throw from Humayun’s Tomb, the original blueprint for the Taj Mahal — The Oberoi, New Delhi offers the ideal counterpoint to a day of giving yourself over to city’s sensorial mêlée of smog, sticky heat and unyielding auto-rickshaw honks.

Starting at £220 a night (plus taxes), each of the property’s opulently furnished rooms is of a palatial scale as standard, featuring Italian marble bathrooms and interior finishings that nod to Edwin Lutyens’ design philosophy, which characterised swathes of the city. A total of seven restaurants and bars spanning Delhi delicacies and dim sum, whiskey to wine, ensure that guests remain well fed and watered, while an immaculately appointed spa and lake-scale outdoor pool (and an intimate indoor option) round out the property’s pitch as an ideal hangout for anyone who’d rather sack off city exploration for a lazy few hours of top-tier lounging.
