Kids, Years & Years are back with a heavenly new album called Palo Santo! The follow up to 2015’s #1 album Communion is a sexy, poptastic record full of heartbreak and healing and everything you’re likely to experience between the two, heaped high with religious imagery. Processing jealousy right through to acceptance, Lucky Escape is today’s moving playlist opening. Onwards now to Christine and the Queens with Doesn’t matter (voleur de soleil) which means ‘sun thief’, en francais. The accompanying dance video feels sunny enough — until the fight scene after which Christine collapses from emotional exhaustion, that is.
Clairo‘s been busy working her way through a series of collabs with dream-pop producers (Danny L Harle, we’re looking at you) and SG Lewis is next up with catchy as hell Better. Just as good is the fierce Untitled ft. Denzel Himself from London duo S4U’s debut album Heart 2 Say. Same goes for Yung Lean’s Ghostface / Shyguy and HMLTD’s Hate Music Last Time Delete EP. Phew.
Then there’s the very determined, We’re not gonna die young, from Japanese rap twosome Yurufuwa Gang’s new album, Mars Ice House II; and the ever-relatable Pretty Boys by Kasai and Joey Bada$$, which we told you about earlier in the week. In case that wasn’t quite enough, there’s plenty of new stuff from RAYE, Gundelach, Pip Millett, Boniface, Honey Dijon, Francis and the Lights, Kojaque and more. Happy new music Friday! Happy Pride weekend!
