this taped confession solves the mystery of who killed tupac

    Finally.

It’s been nearly 22 years since Tupac Shakur was murdered in Las Vegas, and for nearly 22 years there have been a lot of conspiracy theories and crackpot opinions — like, for instance, that Tupac faked his death and is in fact still alive and living with Elvis in Mexico — and discussion about who exactly is responsible. The interest in Tupac, his music, his life and death just won’t go away, and now over two decades on from his death at the age of 25, new evidence seems to finally implicate the killer.

Earlier this year, the docu-series Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G, which is currently streaming on Netflix, focused on a taped confession from Keffe D. Keffe, whose real name is Duane Keith Davis, was an ex-gang member who alleges that he was in the car with the shooter on the night of Tupac’s death. In the tapes, he claims that the shots “came from the back seat”, where Orlando Anderson and another member of the Southside Crips gang were sat.

Orlando Anderson has long been a suspect for the Tupac murder. Orlando had been assaulted by members of Death Row Records crew on the same night, which Keffe alleges was the motive for Tupac’s killing. Orlando himself was never arrested or stood trial for the shooting, and he himself was killed in a shootout with other gang members two years later.

“I was a Compton kingpin, drug dealer, I’m the only one alive who can really tell you the story about the Tupac killing”, Keffe D alleges on the sensational tapes. “People have been pursuing me for 20 years, I’m coming out now because I have cancer, and I have nothing else to lose. All I care about now is the truth.”

In an interview earlier this year Kyle Long, who wrote Unsolved, said it was ridiculous that given the confession, nobody had been arrested. In the show — as in real life — Keffe was shown to have been given immunity by the government task force investigating the deaths of Biggie and Tupac, allowing him to make his confession without impunity.

“Certainly Keffe D and the Southside Crips killed Tupac Shakur”, Kyle told The Wrap. “It’s outrageous that Keffe D is not in jail.”
