The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp has one of the most reputable fashion design schools in the world. Its alumni include Demna Gvasalia, Martin Margiela, Peter Pilotto and the esteemed Antwerp Six — Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, Dirk Bikkembergs, Marina Yee and Walter Van Beirendonck.
The recent graduate show proved they’re still at the top of the game. Versatility and ingenuity underpinned the collections — there were intricate headpieces, surprising silhouettes and a giant patchworked American flag dress accessorised with a bag reading “Anything Helps”.
