10 pearls of wisdom from supermodel turned actress abbey lee

Abbey Lee lives in the ocean with the mermaids and selkies; she can breathe underwater and read people’s minds! At least, that’s what she wants us to think… The 27 year old dyed her hair white to look more like a fairy but when she’s not pretending…

As we get our first look at posters for Mad Max: Fury Road, her post apocalyptic adventure into the world of acting, which she says was “like falling in love,” we get ten bite-size words of wisdom from the vampish hippy chick.

    1. If the shoe fits, go barefoot anyway.
“Australia’s way of life and the peoples general mentality is like no where else I’ve been so far. It’s especially contrasting to America, so the change has been difficult and taken a fair amount of time. I miss the Aussie humour, the pubs, the backyard cricket, my ridiculously disfunctional family, my friends, the coffee and most importantly the fact it is not imperative to wear shoes everywhere I go.”

    2. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
“My aspirations are to cover myself head to toe in body art, plait my hair with jewels and ribbons and be an art therapist somewhere by the sea with three or more kids pulling at my sleeves.”

    3. Those who fear the darkness have no idea what the light can do.
“I find darkness fascinating. You will most likely find me in a bundle in bed with candles burning and Leonard Cohen singing while I write frantically my train of thoughts in a diary I’ve had since I was 10 years old.”

    4. Only a vampire can love you forever…
“There’s something sexy about transparent skin, black hair, red lips, hooded trenchcoats and tearing someones neck apart with fangs.”

    5. The truth will set you free.
“I have truth written on the inside of my bottom lip. It was done by a 70 year old woman who’s famous for being one of the first females in Melbourne ever to cover herself in tatts. She dug so damn hard I couldn’t chew for days. It’s a hidden message, is very personal and has been an important reminder of who I am and how I can better myself and the lives of those I cherish the most.”

    6. Always moisturise.
“I’m obsessed with products by Lush. Coal face cleanser, breathe of fresh air toner and gorgeous moisturiser. Your cells absorb everything you put on your skin, so I keep it natural. Their products are made of essential oils and very pure ingredients.”

    7. Watch a lot of movies.
“My favourites are Donnie Darko, Withnail and I, The Little Mermaid, Labyrinth, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Unforgiven… I love movies.”

    8. If you don’t eat your greens you’re hair will go curly.
“I drink green juice every morning and take dance classes when I can. Even if it’s in my undies shimmying through the house. I love to run too. I get into an aggressive zone and turn into a machine on the treadmill.”

    9. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.
“The strangest thing I’ve ever read about myself was that I had my back teeth removed to enhance my jaw line.”

    10. Support gun control.
“The reactions I got to my ‘Gun Control’ statement at the Met Gala were a vast mix. My favourite was “she’s a stupid slut who was just looking for an excuse to take her clothes off.” They were spot on.”
