The omnipresent (according to his soundcloud location) and ever mysterious producer is making a Meadow Hopping, Traffic Stopping, Death Splash in the music world. Taking his artist name from a meme of some guy having endless epiphanies in the middle of a dance floor, very little is known about the Bella Union musician, other than the fact that he uses music as a way to find focus in the madness of everyday life; clearly channelling that overwhelming feeling into both his music and his visuals. Layering plenty of funky synth, his music is fun and poppy with an underlying glimmer of evil that teases its way out in his attention-commanding videos full of flashy distorted post-internet art. Currently on tour with Jungle and about to drop his No Now LP, discover more about Clarence Clarity.

2. Ever so slightly different
4 greatest memes ever according to Clarence Clarity…
“Despite my name pretty much being a meme, would you believe it, I don’t really like/follow memes. They’re the sort of thing that go round on reddit and 4chan right? I had a look at those sites once and had to wash out my eyes with boiling water immediately after. But I gotta fill this out with something so here are my favourite Songify/Gregory Brothers tunes – better than most real pop music as far as I’m concerned, and they qualify as memes I think…”
1. Oh My Dayum
2. Double Rainbow
3. Bed Intruder
4. Mommy and Daddy Song
6 of Clarence Clarity’s all-time favourite song titles
1. Add N To (X), Metal Fingers In My Body.
“Cos the title’s as filthy as the song. Oh and the video, mercy me…”
2. Frank Zappa, Camarillo Brillo.
“This is a brilliant multi-layered title (look it up) but I expect it’s just the sort of thing that sounded cool at the time. Just bosh it out and make some meaningful shit up afterwards – that’s how to do it.”
3. The Game, Westside Story.
“Cos its like the musical, but you know… Westside. I can’t relate though – more of a south-east kinda guy.”
4. Rafael Kubelik & The Bavarian Symphony Orchestra, Symphony No. 3 in D minor – 05 – V Gustav Mahler.
“Because sometimes you’ve just gotta get to the point.”
5. MACINTOSH PLUS, Untitled.
“As an artist you don’t always want to put your music in some shitty poetic box – this is where you play the Untitled card, and although this is some next level pretentious wankery (which I thoroughly endorse) I like to see a little humour in there as well. This MACINTOSH PLUS track is actually a cover/rework of I Only Have Eyes For You, so I appreciate the complete lack of respect in deleting the title there… And shout outs to D’angelo’s Untitled (How Does It Feel) – we’ve got a joker in the pack…”
6. Untitled Musical Project, Why Isn’t Paul McCartney Dead Already?
“Just feels quite apt at the moment. Jokes – Macca’s the second best Beatle behind Ringo obviously.”
