Six years after his dead and Yves Saint Laurent is still one of the most respected fashion designers of his time. In a tribute to the Le Smoking legend three books dedicated to the designer will be released at Collete in Paris at the same night. Roxanne Lowit Photographs Yves Saint Laurent (Thames & Hudson), is Roxanne’s personal photographic history with the designer. In 1978 she started photographing him in his studio, backstage and with stars like Catherine Deneuve and Betty Catroux. The collaboration ended with Yves’ last collection in 2002.
Loulou de la Falaise by Ariel de Ravenel and Natasha Fraser-Cavassoni (Rizzoli) is a portrait of the bohemian and very influential muse of Saint Laurent, photographed by the likes of Mario Testino, Annie Leibovitz and Helmut Newton.
The third book is Le Studio d’Yves Saint Laurent, Miroir et Secrets by Jeromine Savignon (Actes Sud) and explores the intimacy of the couturier’s studio. Saint Laurent’s lifetime companion Pierre Bergé will be present for a chat about his 50-year relationship and collaboration with Yves at Colette on November 21st from 5 pm to 6:30 pm.
