There are no words to describe how excited we are for the second season of Euphoria. The characters from the cult hit created by A24 and HBO have been living in our heads rent-free since we last heard from them in summer 2019 (save for a couple of stray special episodes with Rue and Jules last Christmas). So while we wait for the show to return to our screens in 2021, A24 has released a series of Euphoria books to tide us over in the meantime.
The Euphoria book box set — each one bound in holographic covers and packaged in a chic matte box — features every Sam Levinson-written script from the first season of the show alongside exclusive interviews with the cast, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie and Jacob Elordi. Also chipping in to the conversation are the show’s behind the scenes team, like famed make-up artist Doniella Davy, music producer Labrinth and Heidi Bivens, who heads up the show’s fashion.
What’s more, we’ll also be treated to other exclusives, like unseen imagery from the making of the show, an on-set photo diary formed by Jacob (who plays the show’s resident arsehole, Nate Jacobs) and personal excerpts from Hunter Schafer’s own sketchbook.
The book follow A24’s collection of published scripts, which include Ari Aster’s Hereditary, Alex Garland’s Ex Machina, Robert Eggers’ The Witch and Barry Jenkins’ Moonlight, which famously featured a foreword by Frank Ocean.
There’s no word yet on whether A24 has enlisted someone to write the foreword for this set, but you can rest assured that getting your hands on a first edition copy will be a pretty strong investment. Books from the original series often skyrocket in price after release, so treat it like a limited edition monograph you might throw out on your coffee table to impress anyone who’s stopping by. The book retails at $98 and weighs 10lbs, so A24 ain’t scrimping on quality either.
