How many people does it take to sing a hit song? If the charts are anything to go by at the moment, you’re going to need to assemble, well, practically everyone. With DJ Khaleed’s insane track I’m the One (featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne) raising the bar for collaborations — and shooting to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot R&B Chart in the process — it looks like we’re in the midst of an all-star moment.
A$AP Rocky’s RAF is further proof. Pretty Flaco assembled Lil Uzi Vert, Quavo, Playboy Carti and Frank Ocean to sing the Belgian designer’s praises — something Rocky’s fond of doing. Earlier this year, when the rapper interviewed Simons for Time he wrote, “When you wrap your mind around the concept that he wrote the future of fashion and design in the 1990s and early 2000s, then you’ll also understand why Raf is the greatest to ever do it.” Well, what do you do once you interview our heroes? Write a song about them!
Two different cuts of the track debuted on Frank Ocean’s Blonded radio on Monday, but we’re yet to get an official stream. Luckily, some dedicated fans have uploaded both RAFs to Soundcloud. Listen to our favourite version below.
