Alicia Keys’ new single is actually pretty great — gone is the piano accompanied crooning, and instead her smoky voice plays over relaxed, tropical beats, making it an early contender for the track that’s going to dominate the airwaves for summer 2016.
Keys has been working on her album, the follow up to 2015’s Girl on Fire, with producers Montagnese, Billy Walsh and Taylor Parks, as well as British group Clean Bandit, which points towards a whole new sound. She’s also looking distinctly stripped back in the accompanying portrait. Keys might not be on fire anymore, but we think we prefer this slow, smouldering vibe anyway.
