How have you seen the lockout laws change your city?
I’ve noticed a sharp decline in creativity amongst my friends who are struggling to find somewhere they can play and hone their craft. When I first started coming to Sydney about four years ago there was a wonderful vibrancy and eccentricity flowing through the streets, sadly, we have to look a lot harder to find it nowadays.
Why does nightlife matter to you?
As a lover of live music and a musician, nightlife is vital. Music venues and clubs provide a cultural richness and an emotional catharsis necessary for a complete and healthy society. Nightlife matters to me as it provides jobs for people who matter to me and safe spaces to explore creativity.

That would be like choosing a favourite child but I love Oxford Circus, The Enmore and Oxford Arts Factory. And the Opera House, obviously….

Describe the ultimate Saturday night in Sydney.
Dinner with friends, cocktails at Low, seeing a band play anywhere they still can and then dancing til the wee hours with no sense of moral judgement from the government.
