It’s hard to imagine a better photographic subject that Kate Bush: all drama, romance and mystery. Everything the musician does begs to be immortalized on film. You have to envy Guido Harari, who, between 1982 and 1993, served as her official photographer. Over 11 years Guido collected countless images of the icon, which will soon become public for the first time.
In the upcoming book The Kate Inside, the photographer will share 300 images from his archives, 200 of which have never been seen publicly. Included in the selection are candid snaps, polaroids, contact sheets, film outtakes, press shots, and personal notes about his time working with her. The pictures were taken during some of the most seminal moments in the artist’s history, including press tours for Hounds Of Love and The Red Shoes and behind the scenes of her film The Line, The Cross & The Curve. Lindsay Kemp — Kate’s longtime collaborator, mentor, and choreographer — will provide the foreword.
The images will also be displayed in an exhibition at London’s Art Bermondsey Project Space from September 13 to 30. The Kate Inside is available for preorder through Wall of Sound, but have a peak at what’s in store below.
