The sculptural explosion of pointillist-painted panels and scaffold that housed Raf Simons‘ Ribena-purple runway for the Christian Dior Haute Couture show may have set the Insta-world on fire, but if you’d like to contemplate the twisted medieval fairytale collection on a slightly less busy background, then our exclusive, hazily-lit shots by Morgan O’Donovan are the backstage pass you need.
Stepping straight out of Raf’s Garden of Earthly Delights — a medieval folk tale seen through a trippy 70s lens — models including Lineisy Montero, Julia Nobis, Lexi Boling and Mica Arganaraz hang out backstage in soft natural light, which catches on the jeweled chainmail vests that overlay floaty Maid Marian gowns and mini dresses with flared sleeves. The ethereal gowns are counterbalanced by heavy wool capes with colorful, stitched silk linings, and velvet bell bottom trousers over chunky glitter platform sandals.
