Anthony Vaccarello’s first campaign for Saint Laurent has arrived! It stars his long time muse Anja Rubik as a gold body suit-wearing badass — “a free, hedonistic, and elusive woman” catching some early morning sun on a bridge over the Seine river in Paris.

Styled by i-D’s Fashion Director and super stylist Alastair McKimm, the images share a sneak peak at Vaccarello’s first collection for the maison. The low-cut, gold embroidered bodysuit styled with an acid wash denim jacket is a quintessential example of the modern sex appeal the Italian-Belgian designer has become known for, through his own label and during his previous tenure as creative director of Versus Versace.

Shot in black and white by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the campaign suggests Vaccarello might take on the rock and roll style that was so successful for Hedi Slimane at the French house. A statement from the maison describes it as “a femininity without frills, rooted in paradoxes, a sensuality tied to the body.” Rubik’s hair is artfully disheveled and her tan line on full show.

Inez and Vinoodh also shot a film with Rubik, which will debut on Saint Laurent’s social media channels on the day of the spring/summer 17 show in Paris, Tuesday, September 27. The print campaign will appear internationally beginning today, and billboards will start to pop up across Paris on September 28.
