According the internet’s eternally ephemeral fashion “sources,” Gosha Rubchinskiy is working with Comme Des Garçons on a fragrance with that may be ready as soon as October. While such news might otherwise feel like idle gossip, hearing it in reference to Gosha comes at little surprise given the fragrance powerhouse that is Comme Des Garçons handle the business side of Gosha’s label.
A Gosha scent would certainly be an asset to Comme ever-growing family of fragrances, and the Russian designer is fond of working with others. He counts sportswear heavies Reebok, Fila, Kappa, and Vans as collaborators, plus, he’s never one to stick with a single project. This year, in addition to his eponymous label, he released The Day of My Death, a photobook. Why not follow print with a fragrance? If the Gosha scent does come in October, there’s no doubt we’ll be seeing it at DSM, and smelling it just about everywhere. Is it too early to put in our Christmas present requests?
