art gallery initiates nude tours

The National Gallery is all for blurring the lines between fine art and bare bodies, introducing a tour in Canberra where clothing is left at the doorstep.

The word aesthetic literally describes ‘perception through the senses’, so who’s to say that art shouldn’t illicit a physiological response?

The mind behind the fleshy experiment is Melbourne-based artist Stuart Ringholt, who believes that through a skewed process of symbiosis visitors can ‘digest’ the work as they would Vitamin D. Ringholt will take visitors on an hour-long tour through the exhibit in groups of 50, with a chance afterwards to enjoy tea, biscuits and more booty-gazing.

All participants will still be required to wear those annoying paper shoes, after all, this is art.
