Plus-size model superstar Ashley Graham has had a stellar 2016 so far, adding “first ‘curvy’ model to grace the cover of Maxim” to an already impressive list of accolades including body-positivity activist and #sizesexy lingerie designer. Now we have a sneak peek of Graham as the love interest of Joe Jonas in the latest video for his new act DNCE. Though it might be more accurate to call Jonas the love interest of Graham, because it’s obvious who’s enjoying the most rapturous reception on the former JoBro’s Instagram post.
“This is awesome! It’s so refreshing to see normal sized girls used in the media,” commented one fan. “I love this!” Another chimed in, “Thank you for not using a stick skinny model for your video, this is super refreshing.” And while the body-shaming trolls aren’t all hiding under their bridges, others have quickly stepped in to shut them down. “Why younger?” Joe can be with [a] woman more older than him Joe is adult enough, and second why smaller? Joe can be with taller or small skinny or fat,” one commenter wrote in reply to a suggestion that Jonas getting with a woman three years his senior was somehow unthinkable.
The new video is for “Toothbrush,” the followup single to DNCE’s “Cake By the Ocean” — which was directed by Black Coffee and Gigi Hadid.
