On Tuesday night, Karl Lagerfeld reimagined his Paris-Salzburg 2014 Métiers d’Art show – first staged last December – in the city that never sleeps, and the turnout was dreamy. Beyoncé, Vanessa Paradis, Julianne Moore, Patti Smith, Dakota Johnson, Lily Collins, Banks, India Salvor Menuez and the unintended star of the audience, Paradis’ 15-year-old daughter Lily-Rose Depp, lined the Park Avenue Armory, as the likes of Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner stalked the runway in their fairytale finery.
“The feathers, the embroidery, the hats, the fabrics – all of that craftsmanship combined with all the classic Chanel shapes and jackets was just beautiful, so, so spectacular, so special.” Julianne Moore commented after the show. Vanessa Paradis went on to say, “Chanel clothes work on really young women, really young girls, and more mature women. There are no rules. It’s not a style for a special generation, it’s something that you can really have fun with,” before they were both led through a secret passageway to a room filled with chandeliers and treated to a performance of CC The World by Cara Delevingne and Pharrell.
