The fashion-world movie Zoolander 2 had its European premiere in Rome on Saturday, and the attendant hype was simply fabulous. As featured in The Hollywood Reporter, the day after the opening, the film’s stars Ben Stiller (Zoolander) and Owen Wilson (Hansel) graced the windows of the city’s flagship Valentino store as “live mannequins.”
The actors struck some killer poses — both solo and together; and, yes, some “Blue Steel” was definitely included. The crowd swooned. Zoolander 2 featured a shoot inside the store, and, last March, Stiller and Wilson appeared on the Valentino runway, a stunt that got a lot of buzz.
Zoolander 2 was filmed in Rome, and fans dressed in over-the-top fashions to the premiere, which took place on Saturday at The Space at the Piazza della Repubblica. Stiller said to the audience, “This was an incredible experience. I loved working here, as crazy as it is to work in Rome.”
Valentino himself has a bit part in the film in an unforgettable scene that includes other fashion luminaries such as Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, and Alexander Wang.
“Zoolander 2” opens across the U.S. on February 12.
