At this stage it would be easier to create a list of musicians who don’t support presidential hopeful underdog Bernie Sanders. So far the senator has garnered the support of everyone from Killer Mike to Vampire Weekend to Lil B to Belinda Carlisle of the Go-Go’s. Animal Collective is more or less the Sanders campaign’s house band. The senator’s jam-packed NYC rally on Wednesday night was essentially Coachella with better street style. Now Sanders supporters are actually hosting their own unofficial music festival, “Berniechella,” in Old Town Indio to coincide with the three-day music festival behemoth.

The Bernie Sanders Block Party is scheduled for Thursday, April 21 from 5pm — midnight and Friday 22 from 9am — 2pm, reports the Desert Sun. So far the two-day lineup includes Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros frontman Alex Ebert, Ozomatli, Moses Sumney, Venus and the Moon, and DJs including Shepard Fairey and Zoë Kravitz. Beer gardens, food trucks, and live art will help #fuelthebern.

“It’s a party of people who are in support of a particular candidate,” event organizer Tizoc DeAztlan said. He’s hoping the senator himself will show up to the affair. Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez hopes the Bernie Sanders Block Party will set a precedent. “This is the first time since I’ve been here on this dais and the first time in the Coachella Valley that the campaign of a presidential candidate is willing to do an event,” he said. “I think it’s good for us. It’s good for democracy and it’s good for the city.” Check out the official poster for the unofficial event below.
