A year after surprising her fans with the flash-drop album Beyoncé, Queen B is in confessional mode in her new short film, Yours and Mine. The superstar is doing a turn as pop philosopher, all the while looking excessively beautiful in a mash-up of clips and close-ups from her visual album. Here are the headlines (we’ll let you come to your own conclusions about what she’s referring to, but we’re getting some very juicy ideas).

“I’m no longer afraid of conflict, and I don’t think conflict is a bad thing.”

“I’m no longer afraid of letting go…of the unknown…of going to certain places in your body, mind and soul that may make you feel uncomfortable.”

“I’ve always been very choosy – very choosy [giggles] – about what I do with my body and who I want to share that with.”

Feminism. “I was afraid of that word.” But now she knows it’s just about equality.

“I have a lot of empathy for men and the pressures that they go through, and the cultures that have been created – especially for African-American men.”

“I have the same empathy for women, and the pressures we go through. The woman has to provide so many things for their children.

“I consider myself a humanist.”

“Relying on someone is “the most powerful thing you can ever feel in your life”

But ultimately, “No-one else can make you happy. You make you happy.”
