Björk’s ninth studio album, Vulnicura, is not just an album, it’s a multi-sensory experience. The Icelandic songstress announced today a luxury-edition box set that adds a tangible (and wearable) experience to the music. Along with “a double LP in gatefold sleeve, a CD version of the live album, a 320kbps mp3 download card,” and “a set of 6 photo prints housed in a glassine sleeve,” fans can have their own version of the James Merry-designed headpiece that Björk wore in support of the album. The mask, made in collaboration with mask design company Wintercroft, is a DIY dream. Composed of thin “moth paper” and low polygon, a type of mesh used primarily in 3D graphic design, the set comes with its own instructions for assembly. The album itself presents a raw and vulnerable journey through heartbreak and healing — but the accompanying visuals steal the show. Make the Vulnicura box set yours here, and please, please send us photos of wherever it is you decide to wear the mask.
