Dev Hynes has made a cassette tape with Nelly Furtado called Hadron Collider, but unless you were at his sold out Blood Orange and Friends shows at the Apollo in Harlem last night, you can’t get your hands on it… yet.

Hynes instagrammed a snap of the cassette, featuring an image of the two artists, their logos and the caption, “SURPRISE!! I made a cassette with Nelly Furtado only available (for now) at the shows today! Maybe she’s in town & we can play it live…”. Fans have since uploaded video snippets of their live performance, giving us all a glimpse of the single. Hynes also performed a tribute to Marvin Gaye with Solange Knowles.

Proceeds from the concert and tape will benefit the Opus 118 Harlem School of Music. When he announced the event, Hynes said, “Playing music saved my life; if it wasn’t for the chance to play cello or piano when I was a kid growing up in Essex, I shudder to think where I’d be right now,” adding that, “At this point in my life, all that matters to me is giving back to communities and making people happy”.
