Burberry's show on the last day LC:M turned into a impromptu tribute to David Bowie and featured some of the brand's own archive pieces.

The last day of LC:M fell on the day the world learned of David Bowie’s death, and Burberry paid tribute to him in a show that coincidentally featured some fully-sequined Bowie-esque pieces towards. “Changes,” “Oh You Pretty Things” and “Starman” played before and after the show, models were given a last minute sprinkling of stardust glitter on their cheekbones, and model Hayett McCarthy wrote “BOWIE” across her palms as her own personal tribute.

Drawing on its rich heritage, Burberry pulled archive pieces from as far back as 1930. These were designs were interspersed with shiny new MA-1 bombers, bulky Arctic parkas and bright red duffel coats. “Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue,” read the press notes, and Christopher Bailey mixed the “borrowed” vintage classics with a younger, sportswear aesthetic (and splashes of acrylic blue) to fit the wedding mantra perfectly.
