Cara Delevingne and Caitlyn Jenner were among the winners at the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles last night. Cara took home two prizes, Choice Summer Movie Star: Female and Choice Movie: Breakout Star, both for her performance in this month’s Paper Towns. Caitlyn was named 2015’s Social Media Queen, triumphing over stiff competition from Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez and Katy Perry.
Caitlyn’s award reflects the fact that when she joined Twitter on June 1, she attracted a million followers in just four hours and three minutes, beating a record previously held by Barack Obama. Her number of Twitter followers has since snowballed to 2.8m and the trans trailblazer is proving even more popular on Instagram, where she now has 3.7m followers.
Caitlyn’s daughter Kendall Jenner was also a winner on the night, collecting the Choice Model accolade ahead of Cara, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Robyn Lawley and Hailey Baldwin. Though Taylor missed out on the Social Media Queen award, she won in four other categories including Choice Music: Female Artist. One Direction were the big winners on the night, collecting an impressive eight prizes including Choice Music Group: Male Artist and Choice Summer Tour.
