In an age where the only thing that gets pinned to walls are random posts on Twitter, the humble poster has somewhat of lost its way. But thanks to CHAOS’ Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall, that’s all about to change.
Putting the CHAOS universe to paper and breathing new life into the traditional fan girl format, fashion’s fave partners in crime have created an entire publication full of ’em. Inviting a motley crew of the industry’s most fabulous figures — from Mario Testino to Virgil Abloh — to let their imaginations run wild, CHAOS Sixty-Nine features over 100 high gloss images, all primed, perforated and ready to be ripped out and posted onto your wall.
“CHAOS Sixty-Nine is an independent editorial playground with as few rules as possible,” Charlotte and Katie tell i-D. “It’s about pure image creation and the love of paper and publishing. Our wish was to produce a publication that felt unique and treasured, which is pretty challenging with so many incredible independent publications out there. It was very interesting how this focused contributors and our own approach to each page, being that images, and even the features, needed to look strong enough to pull out and put up on your wall. A totally new discipline that was really enjoyable.”
So what will make it on to your bedroom wall, Cara Delevingne locking lips with bff Adwoa Aboah? A pair of Pat McGrath painted glittery lips? Martin Parr’s supermarket sweep? David Bailey’s portrait of fashion’s finest chefs? Or how about Nick Knight’s surreal portrait of trans drag artist Salvia? There’s too many to choose from!
CHAOS Sixty-Nine launches online at www.chaos.club and in stores worldwide on November 9th, 2017.
