Cara Delevingne is selling her own personal watch on eBay to raise money for WildCRU, the wildlife conservation group that followed Cecil the Lion before he was brutally murdered by a recreational big game hunter last month.
The watch Delevingne is auctioning off is a prototype for the TAG Heuer Carrera Cara, her special edition timepiece for the Swiss brand that goes on sale next month. The reverse of the watch’s case is inscribed with a lion’s face.
“The killing of Cecil the Lion was a tragedy,” Delevingne writes on [eBay](<a href=). “Today join me to help the scientists who care about the future of wild lions in Africa and work very hard on their conservation. Ahead of the official sale of my TAG Heuer Signature Edition I decided to auction my personal timepiece prototype. I wore this watch on several occasions and during the last Monaco Grand Prix (pic attached). The full amount will be refunded to WildCRU.org, the research unit that followed Cecil for many years. SO LETS JOIN FORCES!”
At the time of writing, Delevigne’s watch has attracted 72 bids and reached a price of £7,000. The auction is scheduled to end just after midday on August 10.
