It’s been just months since Cara Delevingne announced her venture into writing, but the model-turned-actress-turned-novelist-turned-singer is already keen to expand her horizons once again. Cara’s been cast in her first series role, joining Orlando Bloom in the Amazon original Carnival Row.
The show has been described as a fantasy-noir set in a neo-Victorian city, with a string of unsolved murders propelling the narrative — very intriguing. The eight-episode series will chronicle the tensions between humans and mythical creatures who were forced to flee their war-torn homes in search of refuge in the city. Cara will play faerish refugee Vignette Stonemoss, who faces human prejudice as an immigrant in the city.
Though it’s Cara’s first TV role, she’s no stranger to the big screen. Following on from Suicide Squad, Cara nabbed a spot in this year’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets alongside fellow multihyphenate Rihanna.
You’ll have to wait patiently for any sight of Carnival Row, as it’s release is tipped for 2019.
