After stepping behind the camera for her Cannes-approved directorial debut, Chloë Sevigny is back in front of the lens as the new J.W.Anderson campaign star. Fashion and film’s eternal queen of cool was shot by Jamie Hawkesworth for the brand’s spring/summer 17 ads, debuted on Anderson’s Instagram today. The game-changing British designer seems to have developed quite a liking for stateside talent in recent months. Sevigny, the NYC icon once dubbed “the coolest girl in the world,” takes over the reigns from California-bred Bella Hadid, who posed for Anderson’s screen-themed autumn/winter campaign. Previously the designer has gravitated toward less familiar faces when casting his ads.
Anderson’s stunning spring/summer 17 collection exudes the strain of effortless confidence that Sevigny has embodied since the 90s. The campaign highlights two of the collection’s more feminine pieces, an origami-like white mini dress and a luxe long black one — both styled with equally chic leather bags that are almost certain to sell out.
