    Miss Sevigny may have left her longtime East Village garden apartment for parkside Brooklyn digs, but she’s still one of the city’s ultimate cheerleaders. Particularly for the authentic spots that just won’t quit – think Veselka, Max Fish. Of course, the film pokes fun at New York’s tendency to replace scrubby cultural landmarks with generic chains. And our collective habit of bemoaning those changes. Stingy Lulu’s, the Saint Mark’s Place diner where Chloë met Jay McInerney for the iconic New Yorker profile christening her an It girl twenty years ago, is now a touristy Belgian pub. But there’s plenty of magic left, both old standbys and new discoveries. Chloë selects the ultimate NYC spots for i-D:

    Best place for a mani/pedi: Any local where you get to know the ladies.
