The sheer scale of how the coronavirus pandemic is decimating some of our worldwide industries has been preoccupying us for many weeks now. Unemployment rates are soaring, events and festivals being cancelled or postponed to 2021, independent businesses are dying. Nightlife is, naturally, no exception. An industry made up of artists, performers, DJs, set builders, technicians, and so many more, it’s struggle during the lockdown impacts millions across the world.

All hope is not lost, however, with communities rallying around each other to alleviate some of the financial pressures. Iconic New York pub The Stonewall Inn is one such venue. Looking to support the LGBT+ nightlife industry, on Thursday, it’ll host a livestream concert, with a killer line-up and presenters Michelle Visage and Tyler Oakley. Headlined by Troye Sivan, you can also expect performances from Cyndi Lauper, Rufus Wainwright, Kim Petras, Allie X, MUNA, among many others. During the broadcast, viewers will be able to donate to a fund where industry professionals can apply for assistance. The funds will be distributed as $1,000 grants based on need, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“This will be a night of incredible music and talent, and a chance to give back to our community that has been hit so hard in the past 6 weeks,” Stonewall Inn explained in an Instagram post. Once again, the venue doesn’t disappoint serving as a beacon of hope and support for the LGBT+ community.

The concert is scheduled to begin April 23, at 8pm ET or 5pm PT (midnight in the UK).
