Craig Redman of New York and Karl Maier of London live thousands of miles apart but as graphic artists they collaborate on a daily basis to create the likes of Darcel Disappoints and bold portraits of our fave fashionistas and celebs. Now they’re serving up dessert for Chinese New Year (19th February) by sugar coating Chengdu Street in Sichuan with a 14,000 square foot candy carpet. Curated by Hong Kong creative studio AllRightsReserved and assembled by over 2000 volunteers to bring awareness to the plight of underprivileged children in rural areas, the artwork depicts “good luck” flowers and native pandas and took five days to finish. Meals and the candy from the installation will be donated to the underprivileged.
