Mostly thanks to the YouTube Music Awards, today was an amazing day for video releases, but this one (not a part of the YTMAs) is a gem too. Directed by Tim Erdem, the video for Major Lazer’s new track Lean On was shot in India and it’s nothing short of epic, with highlights including the Major Lazer crew on horses, MØ and Diplo bathing in rose-petal water, and lots of Bollywood dancing in a huge, grand Indian palace.
Styled by the very talented young stylist Violetta Kassapi (whose previous clients include Elliphant, Dej Loaf, and Aluna George), MØ looks as badass as ever as she dances her hair off with superstar producers Diplo, The Jillionaire, Walshy Fire and DJ Snake as her video vixens. Somewhere in between Lana Del Rey’s Born To Die video – for the flower headdress – and M.I.A.’s Bad Girls – for the hanging-out-on-top-of-cars vibe, Lean On contains enough style and energy to keep you going ’til summer.
