David Lynch just released a new animated short on YouTube

The filmmaker first announced ‘Fire (Pożar)’ in 2015. It's creepy.

There’s nothing that says “end times” like a David Lynch film. Fitting, then, that you can dive into the surreal world of the filmmaker’s latest creation on YouTube right now… you know, you feel like you can handle that.

With a run time of just 10 and a half minutes, Fire (Pożar) is the result of an artistic collaboration between Mr Lynch and composer Marek Zebrowski. The pair had previously worked together on the album Polish Night Music, after meeting at a film festival and discovering they both shared an interest in experimental music and freeform improvisation.

“The whole point of our experiment was that I would say nothing about my intentions and Marek would interpret the visuals in his own way,” the filmmaker told USC School of Music. “So I say it was a great successful experiment, and I loved the composition Marek wrote for the Penderecki String Quartet.”

If that wasn’t enough of a quick Lynch fix for you, back in January the auteur dropped What Did Jack Do? — a 17-minute long monkey murder mystery — on Netflix, to coincide with his birthday. The man knows how to party.
