Doc ‘n Roll have announced a new season of film celebrating the Sounds of London, presenting 14 music documentaries over three months at independent and arthouse cinemas across London from 16 March to 16 June.

Coinciding with Punk.London, a major year-long celebration of the 40th anniversary of punk across arts organisations in London, Sounds of London will present documentaries focusing on the genre’s (bleeding?) lights. The Rise and Fall of the Clash will be screened with a Q&A with Joe Strummer biographer Chris Salewicz; The Filth and the Fury: The Sex Pistols screening has a Q&A with director Julien Temple; and The Damned: Don’t You Wish That We Were Dead includes a Q&A with director Wes Orshoski.

Other screenings include Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars, the gig film documenting David Bowie’s final outing as his glam rock creation; End Of The Century: The Story of the Ramones, documenting the American punk band’s first London gig; Yangon Calling: Punk in Myanmar, showing the global reach of punk’s influence; plus loads more.
