One super-fortunate 12-year-old girl celebrated her transition into womanhood in the best way possible last night: She was serenaded by none other than Drake at her New York City bat mitzvah.
As reported on the Word on Road, the official Drake fan Twitter account, Drizzy pulled out all the stops and sang “Hotline Bling” and Fetty Wap’s “My Way” to the rapturous crowd of tweens and teens (along with the bat-mitzvah girl’s very generous family).
A Jewish rite of passage, a bat mitzvah is the celebration of a young woman’s coming of age, and it means that she is responsible for her actions, good or bad; the male version is called a bar mitzvah, and this video for “HYFR” shows priceless footage of Drake’s own religious ceremony at the age of 13. Even way back in the day, his dancing skills were already solid.
