The soap star turned hip hop legend is missing his TV roots.

Drake/Drizzy/Champagne Papi; there are many incarnations of The 6’s sickest rapper but it sounds like he’s pretty keen to return to his Wheelchair Jimmy roots. The If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late star famously scored a role on Degrassi: The Next Generationwhen he was 14, playing Jimmy Brooks, the basketball star who became paralysed after getting shot by a fellow student. He appeared in 139 episodes before leaving TV to concentrate on his music.

In his interview with W magazine‘s special edition art issue, now 29-year-old Aubrey Drake Graham revealed that he didn’t totally willingly leave the show, but was forced to choose between music and acting. Who knows where he’d be now if he’d taken the path that leads to the golden gates of Hollywood, but we’re pretty sure he made the right choice. “Back then, I’d spend a full day on set and then go to the studio to make music until 4 or 5 a.m,” he told W. “I’d sleep in my dressing room and then be in front of the cameras again by 9 a.m. Eventually, they realised I was juggling two professions and told me I had to choose. I chose this life.” He signed up for greatness…

However, when asked about his would-be silver screen return, Drizzy’s more than enthusiastic: “I can’t wait to get back into acting,” he says. “No one ever asks me to do movies, and, although music is my focal point now, I’d love to do a film. That was the life that I lived before, and it would be interesting to live it again.”

Someone, please, cast Drake!
