Eddie Redmayne’s Prada menswear campaign has come to life in a new short film by Craig McDean, Masha Vasyukova, and DJA. The British actor wears historically tinged clothes, including a great leather-paneled coat, knitted sweater, and white shirt with a blue, painted scene of Roman centurions and maidens from the fall/winter 16 collection.
Set to an atmospheric, suspenseful track — “End Up Apart” by Mexican artist Hiram Martínez — the campaign video features Redmayne reading intently from a diary before heading out into a surreal postcard landscape in search of something (a lover, perhaps?). His brooding acting is the perfect match for Prada’s dramatic aesthetic.
