Remember when your whole childhood was engrossed in the wonderful world of Harry Potter, and there was a sad, nostalgic knot in your stomach after the final film came out? Well you can loosen that knot a little because this franchise is not over yet! It was announced in 2013 that a prequel to the series would be adapted from the textbook Harry used in his first year of Howarts, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and it has finally come to fruition, with Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne confirmed to play the protagonist and author of said textbook, Newt Scamander.
JK Rowling’s screenwriting debut takes place in New York, 70 years before the events that take place in the Harry Potter series, and follows the magizoologist as he travels the wizarding world, documenting the magical creatures he encounters.
David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter films will be stepping up to the job once again and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is slated for release in 3D and Imax on the 18th November, 2016.
