Craig Roberts

How did you start your career?
I started in kids TV. I was terrible, nothing’s changed.

What was your big break? My first role in a movie came when I was 18 in Richard Ayoade’s Submarine.

What advice would you give young people wishing to follow in your footsteps? Don’t let anyone stop you from doing something you want to do. I’d also say have something else. I don’t think it’s enough to just pursue being an actor as it can drive you insane waiting around for parts.

When did you last celebrate and what was the occasion? I premiered a movie I directed at SXSW recently. It’s called Just Jim. It was a very surreal experience.

Tell us one thing that no one knows about you? I listen to the Punch Drunk Love soundtrack most days. I also have an unreleased rap album.

What’s your party trick? Slipping in and out without being noticed.

Patrick Schwarzenegger

What do you do and why do you do it? I’m a student at USC in the film and business program. I love acting as it allows me to portray other people and characters, which is a unique way to experience life situations.

Describe yourself in five words. Determined, gregarious, positive, educated, selfless.

What was your big break? I’m still in school, so, while I’ve done a few films, the best is yet to come.

What advice would you give young people wishing to follow in your footsteps? Work your ass off and don’t give up.

We’re celebrating the 35th Birthday Issue of i-D, when did you last celebrate and what was the occasion? I celebrate life every day! It’s a beautiful thing.

Tell us one thing that no one knows about you. I’m probably more sensitive than anyone would ever guess. Not sure if that’s good or bad.

Ellar Coltrane

What do you do and why do you do it? I wander, because it’s hard to sit still.

Describe yourself in five words. Silly, soggy, sullen boy, phantasm.

How did you start your career? I filmed the movie Boyhood over many years.

What was your big break? Being born.

What are you working on at the moment? Growing up.

What advice would you give young people wishing to follow in your footsteps? Learn to sit still.

We’re celebrating the 35th Birthday Issue of i-D, when did you last celebrate and what was the occasion? A few weeks ago, for finishing award season.

What excites you most about tomorrow? Being with friends.

Tell us one thing that no one knows about you. I don’t want to hide.

What’s your party trick? Disappearing.

Finish this sentence: 35 is the new… grey.
