Emily Eavis has shared details of the tributes to David Bowie and Prince planned for this year’s Glastonbury festival. A giant, metal lightening bolt sculpture inspired by Bowie’s Aladdin Sane album cover will hang above the Pyramid stage, as well as a performance of Phillip Glass’s Heroes Symphony which will take place on the Saturday night as a “really intimate tribute to Bowie”. The festival will also remember Prince, with Eavis describing his passing as “a huge loss to music” and saying that there is talk of “late-night Prince parties”.

For those asking, we’re planning a big event elsewhere for 2018 or 2019 but it hasn’t even got a name yet so watch this space for more info!

In further Glasto news, Emily Eavis denied reports that the festival would be moving from Worthy Farm, and instead revealed that they’re “planning a big event elsewhere for 2018 or 2019”. Which is yet to be named, but will be a “visual feast” organised by “the whole team behind the Glastonbury Festival but it’s not going to be called Glastonbury”. Watch this space for more updates.
