Karlie Kloss has been brightening up our world ever since we can remember. Cookie-maker, coder and two time i-D cover girl, she’s the ultimate girl squad material. She’s also a vlogging extraordinaire, having racked up over 400,000 on her YouTube channel, Klossy. Unveiled today as the new face of Mango, we share the first look of her campaign film with Jamie Hince below and catch up with the American beauty to talk fashion week lols, 90s dance parties, and the best thing about being a girl in 2016.
How does it feel to be the new face of Mango?
It’s amazing — I love how the campaign captures the energy of the New Metallics collection.
What’s your favorite thing about the brand?
I love that Mango is a chic and classic brand with an iconic international presence.
What was it like making the campaign video?
The shoot was really fun and high energy. It was one big 90s dance party.
If you could ask the world one question what would it be?
What can we do today to make the world better tomorrow?
How did you spend International Women’s Day?
I took time on International Women’s Day to reflect on the women in my life. It was also inspiring to track social media and see so many women from around the world come together and support each other.
What’s the best thing about being a girl right now?
We are breaking down barriers, taking advantage of the opportunities in front of us, and changing the future.
What was your favorite fashion week moment?
Fashion Week really turns into Fashion Month with so much travel from city to city. My favorite part is that I get to catch up with friends. During the year, we’re all on different schedules and in different countries, but Fashion Month always feels like a big family reunion.
What’s the most rebellious thing you’ve ever done?
I don’t think I can claim anything too rebellious!
Who would play you in the movie of your life?
I’d give the part to any actress who matches my height!
What are your hopes and dreams for 2016?
I’m hoping to keep having fun, working hard, and spending lots of time with friends and family.
